neither team won an ap national title until 39. that seems like a very fair place to start. its not like im doing myself any favors by starting there. a&m was very good in the 10s and 20s and lsu was not

Personally I don't see why the Pre 1939 years shouldn't count. A&M was a very strong school in the Pre WWII era. Several SWC Titles and undefeated seasons.

In the end though this argument goes nowhere. LSU folks will just bring up recent history and that's fair. They have been fantastic since Saban came to town. Kudos. A&M has a great history that is marred by the drought from Post WWII to the early 70s when A&M was essentially the Citadel competing in the SWC. That's fine.

The future is what matters and I wouldn't trade ours for yours (and I'm sure you feel the same way).
