Here is my objective ranking:
1. Paul Mainieri (LSU)
2. John Cohen (Mississippi State)
3. Kevin O'Sullivan (Florida)
4. Tim Corbin (Vanderbilt)
5. Dave van Horn (Arkansas)
6. Dave Serrano (Tennessee)
7. David Perno (Georgia)
8. Gary Henderson (Kentucky)
9. John Pawlowski (Auburn)
10. Mitch Gaspard (Alabama)
Honorable Mention: Mike Bianco (Ole Miss)-losing to Memphis
DNR: Chad Holbrook (South Carolina) Rob Childress (Texas A&M) Tim Jamieson (Missouri)
I omitted the first-time SEC coaches, but the Missouri coach would definitely been right at the bottom of my superior ranking system based on my in-depth analysis.
I feel like I have been quite objective with my current ranking system.
Some coaches I ranked lower due to their resources that they have at their disposal extrapolated by their accomplishments/failures.
Go Dawgs!
Stay Classy SEC

There are 4 former Northwestern St coaches listed in that post, though Childress was only an assistant there.
I guess Mainieri is number one by default since Tanner retired. I'm not his biggest fan though.

Now Perno ain't nowhere near the top 7. If you asked me 5 years ago I'd say top 2 or 3. Now he's probably bottom 2 or 3. Much like Richt, I think he got a little complacent after so much success, and he had an assitant problem (can't remember the guy's name for the life of me, but our 3rd base coach was HORRRRIIBBLLLEEE. Like the baseball equivalent of jon jancek). He finally wised up and fired that turd a few years ago, but still. I feel like his days are probably numbered, or at least they should be.

And on top of how bad he's doing, it's the fact that we could potentially be a truly elite baseball program. A lot of the coaches at these baseball factories in metro atlanta hate perno though, he's kind of a dick.

I agree. Perno has to be near the bottom. There's enough highschool baseball talent within 2 hours of that campus to compete for national titles every single year. UGA has to share blame though for not investing into making that baseball powerhouse a reality.

O'Sullivan and Corbin are above the Jew

No. Currently Perno is the bottom.

The problem, if this even makes sense, is that the talent is almost TOO good. I think last year we signed the #1 recruiting class in america, but all the studs went to the MLB. And I won't pretend to be knowledgeable about college baseball recruiting, but I think that you have to walk a fine line between securing/signing a kid who may go to the MLB vs getting someone else who you know will come.

No joke, isn't the Warner Robbins Little League team always at the LLWS? If I was Georgia I would be establishing some connections early to these kids. It cannot be a fluke that they field one of the best Little League teams each year. Use it as a farm club and get them thinking about enrolling at Georgia early. If that is legal, which I assume it is since LSU and Bama recently offered an 8th grader a football scholly.

I've thought about that many times. Missed a golden opportunity
