Yeah I never got that feeling really from Ft. Worth.
I understand what you mean but still I never really felt that way about them. Also Austin is less flamboyant cowboy and more like a Cali, Oregon or Colorado hipster to me.
Anyway I personally enjoy Texas and wouldn't mind moving back out there now while I'm a young professional.
Then move back to the Oxford area to retire when I'm older so I can be that old dude sitting on City Grocery patio drinking wofford reserve on the rocks.

I'd guess he's probably thinking of that Houston/Gilley's Urban Cowboy bullshite. I wouldn't argue that point at all, as I'm in 100% agreement.
