I'm sure there will be plenty of whitewashing, still. But I think it's going to be difficult to give Haith a show-cause penalty with all this swirling in the background and evidently no proof.

I've heard the internal legal counsel for the University has told Haith that he will likely not be receiving any kind of punishment from the NCAA. Take that for what it's worth but it sounds like he may not be getting any kind of punishment

Hope you have the inside scoop on this matter. I don't know if Haith committed or was aware of any NCAA violations at Miami. Regardless, and unfortunately, "good guys" don't get any advantage.

Just came across something over on PM board stating that the NCAA plans on proceeding with the investigation now. The Media was having a feild day with this announcement also. They are looking at it like it's a total farce.
My opinion, the NCAA may be doing this to save face and bring a closure to the investigation. I just don't see how any organization can prove any wrong doing after accussing themselves of a flaud and inaccurate investigation. The only way this can end without a major shite storm is for them to put it to bed and say they didn't have sufficient evidence and let this thing just die.

It's just a bizarre situation. The NCAA bought a burner phone to call Shapiro, who they should be talking to, and then the #2 guy at the NCAA approves payments to Shapiro's lawyer, in clear violation of their own policy.

Miami is going to make it all go away for everyone. Strong statement they made. Shot across the stern that the NCAA's already potentially facing lawsuits over the way they've handled the whole ordeal.
