There are plenty of ways to get an Ag Tag if you want one. I do agree some people take them too seriously. I like having mine because I am proud to be an Aggie but I don't judge people based on having one or not. If it bothers you just get one, if not then just deal with it that some people will always question your credibility and ignore them. Same thing with 12th Man or ring tags.

AgTags are the gayest thing on the internet since gay porn. They play on the worst stereotypes of douchebag Fish Camp types constantly looking for further ways to prove that they're "real" Aggies. You're a silly count if you care about the legitimacy of other posters on an anonymous message board.
I also think you've got to be naive to not give a second thought to the constant efforts by TA admins to gather more personal information on site users in conjunction with the fundraising arms of the school. The re-verification bullshite should have raised a red flag; has nothing to do with proving you're a "real Aggie" to message board admin ****s, it's pure data mining.
