Do you guys consider South Carolina a rival?

They consider us an arch rival. We consider them a pesky little brother, but not nearly as much of a rival as Auburn, GT, or Florida.

Not traditionally, but they should take GTs spot since GT sucks so bad. Who wants a rival that never wins?

I guess, but it pales in comparison to the other established rivals we have.
I don't get as much joy in beating them as I do Florida, Auburn, or Tech, but losing to them might be the most annoying other than losing to Tech.

Tailgating in Columbia SC has become 10x better than in Athens... which is a sign of future success imo

It's already been said but I'll reiterate:
They are our 5th biggest rival behind tech, UF, AU, and UT. We are their 2nd biggest rival and always have been. The only reason there's so much animosity now is because they've gotten us a few games in a row. But in general, SC is pretty low on our pecking order.
Btw, it's funny to think about where UGA falls on people's rival scale. To my knowledge:
GT: 1st
UF: 1st/2nd
AU: 2nd
SC: 2nd
UT: 2nd/3rd
Clemson: Depending on who you ask, we could be 2nd or 3rd

There is really only 1 guy besides myself that trolls South Carolina on the rant. We have our reasons. It doesn't represent the Dawg Nation as a whole.
Generally, they are a distant #5 on our rival list.
Imagine if Franklin beat UGA in 2013,2014,2015 at Vanderbilt, and at the same time beat TN those same years, and all of a sudden the whole state of Tennessee are die hard Vanderbilt fans, and want to start talking shite day in and day out about Georgia, talking about the Great Vandy-Georgia rivalry, think about how ridiculous that would sound.
That's where we are now with the South Carolina Gamecocks.

No. They are less of a rival than Florida, Auburn, GT, and Tennessee. Hell I'd have Bama and LSU as bigger rivals and we don't even face them every year.
In short no. South Carolina is a pest that has gotten uppity with a bit of recent success. Once Richt gets fired or Spurrier retires they will go back to mediocrity.

every team we play is a rival to me. I hope we kill everone. Of course i am constantly disappointed.

Yes, of course they are one of our main rivals. SC is the closest border state to Athens. You can drive the 165 miles from Athens to Columbia in an 1.5 hrs. easily. We recruit a lot of the same players from SC and Georgia. Spurrier always loved kicking Georgia's arse when he was at Florida and now he's loving the same at SC.

There's a lot of back and forth, but it's usually instigated to by 3 screen names (Deeprig, Cockboi and that guy from REM.)
I think rival loses it's meaning when you start talking about more than 1 school. Then it really becomes teams you like to beat and play against a lot (like in conference.)
Clemsux will always be USC's rival. Then there's a list of other teams we like to beat. Yes, UGA is one of them.

frickin hell, I got logged off yesterday before I finished my reply. Oh well, I was just going to say pretty much what everyone else's said. frick Spurrier, the old bastard, and by extension,frick whatever team he happens to be coaching at the time. I love the fact that the USCe fans try so hard to matter, and still don't.
I think of South Carolina beating us the last 3 years like a housefly that keeps buzzing you and maybe landing on you while you're trying to take a nap. The first time or two it's just aggravating. But after the third time you realize the little prick just isn't going away and that it's time to get up and go kill the motherfricker.

Same experience here. I was even with mutual friends with a guy that I grew up with that went there. I left our tailgate spot to go to the bathroom and instead of walking around 8 cars lined up, just cut through literally the corner of these people's tailgate area to get to the bathrooms. They didn't even see me until I tried to do it coming back out this guy holds up a spatula and told me to go all the way around. Taking it as a joke I laughed and tried to shake his hand and he was dead serious, as every other old frick in his group joined in. It was as tasteless and classless as the scenery around that shite hole. Thank god it's in Athens this year

When a school beats you 3 years in-a-row, you should wonder if they consider youa rival. UGA has several rivals: 1) UF 2) AU 3) UT 4) USCe. GT thinks they are but the series doesn't come close to a rivalry.
