FWIW, I think A&M will statistically have the best offense again.
Hard to not rank them #1 when they have the Heisman winner plus countless weapons returning.
If Johnny doesn't twist his ankle, you are probably right.
If one of the other quarterbacks gets hurt, those offenses are still competitive with weapons all over the field. A hurt quarterback might knock them out of the top 5, but it wouldn't completely destroy their season like it would for A&M, presumably.
Maybe A&M actually have fantastic players all over the field, there's no way of knowing because Johnny is doing everything.
I'm not putting them #1 when a bruised shoulder or sprained ankle for 1 player basically ruins your offense.

So in one sentence you acknowledge you have no way of knowing if we have stars all over the field, and in the next you conclude that if Johnny goes down, all is for naught.
What am I missing here?

Disagree, for Bama. With that O-line being gutted like it is, the only way the running game is going to get going is for AJ to start lighting up the secondary. Take that away, and Bama O is a shell of itself.
