I just find it hard to say that "backfield A" is better than "backfield B" based off of players that haven't even seen the field yet.

O.K. -- instead of talking about how great we all think our backfield could be -- when second stringers get more touches, freshmen become seasoned veterans, etc., etc. -- why don't we just look at the numbers?
Who brings back the most rushing yards next year? Wouldn't the argument start there? Then we should look at OL, etc.
A&M led the SEC in rushing ypg (and yards/attempt) -- and returns all but about 450 yards of that production. Still A&M returns an entire starting backfield that gained over 200 ypg -- with the next nearest being UGA at about 180 ypg. Lost a top 2 pick left tackle (LJ), but replace him with a first-team all-SEC tackle (Matthews).
So put A&M anywhere but #1, and you're looking at "potential," Te'o-esque feel good stories, urban legends, whatever -- you're not looking at the data.
