Did he redshirt last year or something? I don't remember him playing at all.

When I heard the news, my only reaction was:

he spent 2 years at A&M. He redshirted in 2011. He "played" in 2012. Given our incredible lack of depth along the dline, his playing time should give you a pretty good hint to what our coaches thought of him. He was told we were going to try him on the oline in the spring.

Look for a few more of these. It's not hard to figure out who they may be if you look at our roster. Most of these kids were not recruited by Sumlin and his staff and some of them simply don't fit or aren't buying into what they are being asked to do. Several of these kids play positions of need. Yet they never play and aren't even working their way onto special teams. Those are the ones that are going to leave.

Here's my guess:

Confident they won't be back

WR - Nate Askew
OL - Garrett Gramling
DL - Shayvion Hatten (confirmed)
DL - Rhontae Scales (confirmed)
LB - Shaun Ward
LB - Domonique Patterson
DB - Desmond Gardiner

Likely

OL - Shep Klinke
DB - Devonta Burns

Possible

QB - Matt Joeckel
DB - Clay Honeycutt

Unfortunate. Was pretty highly recruited.

Another in a long line of highly-recruited DL that didn't do much.

Um...Klinke is a likely starter at guard after Ced moves to tackle.

Um...no he's not. The starter will either be Compton or Ifedi. Klinke didn't get much PT BEFORE he broke his ankle.

I have no problem being wrong if Klinke plays up to his rating.

However, all pay sites had Corey Nelson coming to A&M and not flipping to OU, and I'm sure none of the pay sites saw the Young transfer coming either.
