But it took someone defensive minded like Saban to slow down the wide open offensees Spurrier was known for.
Had Spurrier been better on defense he would have had a lot more titles back in the 90's, it's amazing he only had one. Plus, Spurrier had to change his offense to fit USCe and play better defense which he did recruiting wise.
