Insiders from a school's side get information from the staff or AD. Unless a kid has said specifically, "I will commit to you" whether in private or public, it is all based on vibes and feelings the coaches get. So just because a coaching staff feels confident about someone doesn't meant they are a lock. So when they tell insiders, they are relaying their side of the story.

When talking about OJ Howard they only said they are starting to feel good about him. Which probably was a result of him taking phone calls/talking to the staff or agreeing for some type of visit or some shite. Doesn't mean they were wrong just misinterpreted. Things change in recruiting.

Also, that email didn't really say shite to be honest. Matthews, Montravius Adams and Derrick Green being silent commits were not info from the email

ETA: If UGA keeps shitting the bed with in state recruiting we will continue to pull top shelf talent from your state along with most other schools

The people who think this is true need to really look at UGA's situation more closely. In-state recruiting in Georgia is more similar to Florida than Alabama or Louisiana. UGA literally doesn't have room for all the "top shelf talent" from Ga. Sure, UGA misses on some guys, but overall the staff does a pretty good job. UGA's team is full of high-level talent.
