Lol Auburn ahead of Florida because of mid-career starting salaries? Shouldn't you consider the proportion of student graduating with degrees that make a lot of money? That is a very skewed methodology. Auburn is not as good as Florida. Florida is more selective and has the better ranked graduate programs. Florida is no Vanderbilt, but according to undergraduate admissions selectivity and graduate research rankings, behind Vanderbilt, Florida and aTm are the best schools, with Florida having a slight edge in undergraduate selectivity.. And no, UGA doesn't just get AAU membership because their medical school is "up and running at full speed.". They need to have meaningful research going on, along with many other factors. Oh and UAB's medical program is unranked, so saying that it has a better medical school than UF, which is ranked higher than university of Miami, and has more research dollars than any med school in the south east, and just built two new medical centers with more coming, is just funny. Sorry, but when other conferences laugh at the SEC academics, Florida and aTm are largely not include.

2012 National Institutes of Health funding rankings (I included medical schools in the Southeast ranked in the top 50):

14 UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA CHAPEL HILL $253,776,220
16 EMORY UNIVERSITY $223,899,649
29 UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA AT BIRMINGHAM $143,263,811
38 UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI SCHOOL OF MEDICINE $117,552,086
40 UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA CHARLOTTESVILLE $107,511,242
45 WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY HEALTH SCIENCES $91,866,698
48 UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA $83,937,366
49 MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA $83,851,149

Top primary care medical schools

You might out to do a little more research before making definitive statements.

Uh not total funding comes from NIH, lol... And in total research money, UF and Miami have the most, hence why their medical schools are actually highly ranked by US news.
