Yes is is, sorry. This should hear things up for those of you doubting the academics of uf UGA and aTm LINK

US news: Vandy, then UF, then aTm, then UGA then everyone else. Mizzou isnt in the top 100, I don't think..
I go to Florida and can attest to the graduate research programs. They're all top notch. But aTm is great too. Known for engineering. Florida for research in the sciences, with a solid engineering program.
Yeah, there are a lot of Asians at UF, and they all stick together in student organizations and stuff haha. Half of my best friends are Asian, and I love them!
UF gets a lot of students from Georgia and other southern states. I've got some friends from New York and Texas, and there are some international students. Mostly in state residents though.
Lol, Louisville is not. I don't have to check rankings to know that! Check them if you want, but Louisville is not on par academically.

And I apologize! I finally found UAB's med school ranking. It's in the 30s, UF's in the 40s, and Miami in the 50s. Didn't know you guys had a good med school!
Uh not total funding comes from NIH, lol... And in total research money, UF and Miami have the most, hence why their medical schools are actually highly ranked by US news.
Also, out of curiosity, how are the honors programs at these other schools? I know about Florida's, but an curious about their SEC companions.
Yeah, there are more engineering grads, skewing the salaries. Hence why starting salary isn't enough to just declare Auburn better than selective research powerhouses like Florida and TAMU

And our average test scores come in a range: 28-32 for ACT and 1890-2090 for the SAT, which is highest in the SEC behind Vanderbilt.
Lol Auburn ahead of Florida because of mid-career starting salaries? Shouldn't you consider the proportion of student graduating with degrees that make a lot of money? That is a very skewed methodology. Auburn is not as good as Florida. Florida is more selective and has the better ranked graduate programs. Florida is no Vanderbilt, but according to undergraduate admissions selectivity and graduate research rankings, behind Vanderbilt, Florida and aTm are the best schools, with Florida having a slight edge in undergraduate selectivity.. And no, UGA doesn't just get AAU membership because their medical school is "up and running at full speed.". They need to have meaningful research going on, along with many other factors. Oh and UAB's medical program is unranked, so saying that it has a better medical school than UF, which is ranked higher than university of Miami, and has more research dollars than any med school in the south east, and just built two new medical centers with more coming, is just funny. Sorry, but when other conferences laugh at the SEC academics, Florida and aTm are largely not include.
Bad timing, actually. I am disappointed with the performance of the football team, but this thread is about academics right now, and I happen to think that Vandy Florida and aTm are the schools that shine to me in the SEC.
I agree. I have respect for our SEC companions at college station. I feel like Georgia is still a bit away from our level.
Rankings would suggest UF has the slight edge among the three. I give you guys the edge in engineering, but we don't slack. Also, we do have highly ranked graduate programs, including the best medical school in the south behind Emory.
I didn't know UGA was ranked so close. It seems like UF and TAMU carry more national recognition

Ranking the SEC schools academically?

While CFB is coming to a close, I guess this would be an entertaining discussion.

My opinion, and according to US news college rankings

Vandy > Florida > TAMU > Georgia > every other school
