Does anybody know why they did not serve beer during the SEC Championship but they are serving it tonight? We had it at past SEC Championships but not this year. Just curious.

I would say they don't trust Alabama fans with alcohol, but we have to be worse.

Bowl games aren't SEC sanctioned. It's an SEC rule, not an NCAA rule.

New rule, I would imagine. I always sit in a box so, I don't know for sure, but they serve when they are allowed.

It was not served at the 2008 or 2009 SECCG. SEC does not allow it for any conference sanctioned events. Neutral site OOC games don't fall under that rule, which is why you see it games like Bama/FSU, Bama/VT, etc.

It hasn't always been a rule.

All I know is that bowl games are not SEC sanctioned games and the NCAA has no laws against alcohol being served at games.

Rupp Arena, being off campus, could serve alcohol if the SEC would allow it.

Its only served at the SEC game.if.you are in club or box. Other than that its dry. Bowl games are not SEC sanctioned neither is kickoff game.

Um, I'm pretty sure the "lightweight" would be the guy who passed out before he could even make it to the counter at Krystal. Apparently, he still managed to get his "sackful", though....

Again... Just buy box seats and you don't have to worry about the rules set by anyone.
