I mean after all he had a much better record and resume at Clemson than Bulimia did at Wisky. How'd that work out?

You didn't answer my question

What was going to be Danny's best team wound up being Nutt's first. Kinda went downhill for Arky after the Stoerner fumble.

My whole family got butthole cancer because Ford was such a bad hire.

How fired up were you about DiNardo?
1992 SEC coach of the year, or whatever year it was.

LSU was coming off of the Curley Hallman era, they would have been fired up about any coach with a pulse.

Dinardo wasn't nearly as accomplished as Danny was.
Why don't you answer the question?

I don't think the majority of us were old enough at the tine to give an honest answer. I was only 10 at the time. I remember him being hired buy can't speak to the mood of the hiring. I'm sure ours fans were stoked considering how far Crowe had run the program in to the ground.

What is there to answer?
From what I can recall, the candidate list was:
Arkansas Consultant Danny Ford
UT assistant coach Phillip Fulmer
Arkansas Interim Joe Kines
It wasn't like it is today where there is a debate surrounding the coaching search, a hire was made, you heard about it on the evening news or read about it in the Arkansas Democrat, Southwest Times, etc. The discussion would be held at the local diners and coffee shops where you would know the people you were talking too.
Recruiting consisted of the same, the recruiting class was signed, the names listed in the paper with a bio, description and a list of offers from other schools.
Was there excitement to be held? Sure, Ford had won a MNC at Clemson. He was the first coach to win the SEC west at a school other than Alabama.

I liked Danny Ford and talked with him several times when I coached his son in baseball. However, with that being said I knew he was only a stop-gap option because his best days were behind him and quite frankly the game had passed him by.
Ford did have a good record at Clemson but if you knew anything about football, which obviously you don't, you would realize that Clemson had backed into their National Championship by beating a 3 loss Ohio State team that didn't even win their conference. The Buckeyes that year lost to Penn State 0-19, Purdue 16-27 and Michigan 3-14 so it’s not like Clemson beat a top opponent in the Gator Bowl.
Bielema is a very young coach and he has accomplished a great deal in a short time. Couple that with the fact that he is forming a coaching and recruiting staff that is second and anybody but an dolt could see why Hog Fans are so excited to land Bielema. There’s a direct correlation between the concern rival fans have with another team’s program and the number and tone of posts directed towards those fans. You prove that time and time again with your drivel but you are right to be concerned.

WTH are you talking about?? Clemson didnt play Ohio State OR play in the Gator. Clemson played #4 Nebraska in the Orange Bowl to win the title that year. Also beat #4 UGA and #8 UNC. If beating 3 top 10 teams is "backing in" to a title I would hate to see what you think it takes to earn one.
