I know we traditionally suck vs Vandy, but don't they lose a good bit this year?

Sort of, but they are also bring in recruiting classes like a SEC school not like Vandy as of now and the past couple of classes since Franklin has been there.
I'd rather have Kentucky as my permanent opponent as of right now.

Actually we don't.
The "losing to Vanderbilt on the reg" thing didn't start until the Orgeron years. Then it straight up didn't stop through O and Nutt and now into Freeze.
Under Cut and Tubbs, we almost never lost to Vandy. We lead the all-time series by ten wins, and that's with Vandy getting off to an 18-0 lead in the series (I'm not making that up) from 1894 to 1938. We pretty much dominated the 'Dores from the end of WWII until Ed fricking O.
