Texas A&M Football: DeLoss Dodds' Quote Indicates Texas Feels Threatened by SEC
It's so nice to be able to go back a few months and look at the unbridled arrogance of the sip fans in these comments sections.

No way is Texas threatened. A&M has always been a decent recruiting school & will continue to be just that. They've been in the top 25 for most of the past decade in recruiting & that's where they'll stay. Some years will beat out others, but it won't be any better than what they've been doing.
On moving to the SEC bringing in more players due to exposure? Doubt it. There may be 1 or 2 a year that feel this way, but not enough to make a huge difference. Most Texas recruits want to play and be on tv against teams they've grown up around, so it's possible A&M could miss out on a recruit or 2 each year due to that. It will even out and stay the same.
Will A&M fare better in the SEC? Yes bc the schedule will be easier.
Did the SEC move really 1-up Texas? No. A&M will make $23.2M in the SEC vs $20M in the Big 12 each yr. Don't forget the $9M in exit fees it lost. The SEC Network should bring in $5-10M per school if it ever gets created, while Texas earns $15M from LHN (something A&M missed an opportunity of joining).
The only thing the move to the SEC actually did was bring in more donations, more revenues off of apparel, and get ppl talking about the school for once. Kyle Field could've underwent an expansion in the Big 12 & still sold out, so nix the thought of the SEC bringing in more money to the school/city there.
Recruits in Texas grow up dreaming of playing for the Burnt Orange & White and, honestly, that will never change.

Texas has refused to play A&M?? Say what?? Your right because Texas told A&M get out of the Big 12, because they don't want to play them anymore.. Everyone will start watching and rooting for those love-able losers... Fans will all of the sudden root for the Aggies because THEY left for the SEC? Fans & graduates of Baylor, Texas Tech, OU, LSU, & UT here in Texas will start pulling for those Aggies because they're now in the SEC and left the Big 12 because they were unhappy about the Longhorn Network.. Ya know that same network Dodds called Powers and offered him a chance to be apart of, but Powers said no... This notion that A&M will "eventually" climb up to SEC caliber play is funny to me.. Aggies record since 2003 has been 50-48, and somehow kids are now going to be tripping all over themselves to get to go to the SEC and play at Texas A&M?? Wow

When A&M gets owned this year, they will fall so far down they will never get back up.
You are taking a comment that was meant as a jab at the guy who asked it as recognition? Dodds was slapping the aggies and the SEC in the face with that comment. He may have recognized that there are now SEC schools taking a bigger liking to the state of Texas but when Alabama offers 200 kids, their offers become worthless as they can only take 25.
Dodds could have said no, they don't own any part of Texas but he instead chose to say ya they opened up a tiny part of the state but that doesn't mean anything. While he may have recognized the SEC's presence, to say that he's scared or threatened is insane.

All this talk is hilarious. Have people forgotten that the top bluest of the blue chip recruits go to programs that WIN?
The SEC does have some allure, but the fact is that the best recruits who fall for that pitch are likely to go a few more hours down the road to LSU than spend 3-5 years whooping and howdying their way to the Independence Bowl.
And if Mack and DeLoss are concerned, it's about LSU/Arkansas getting more exposure in the state, not TAMU.

Texas has indeed always been the better program and it will most likely continue to be the best in the state. This dosen't mean that A&M wont be successful in the foreseeable future As a Longhorn I have come to respect Aggieland and everything that it stands for. I have visited the campus and have been admired by it's values and the atmosphere on game days. We have a lot of bandwagon fans so the hate will never stop...hence, some of these commentators. We'll be back on top in the fall and will continue to dominate. Hook em' Horns.

I hope you're not AHOV.

Haha, no.
I post on Texags under the same username but I'm not a prolific poster. AHOV and KaiserSoze99's posts are unmistakable; you know them when you see them.
Kaiser's entry was definitely a Rivals-type post, and it deserved a similar type of response. That said, I don't enjoy all Rivals board schtick. For example, you'll never hear me talk glowingly of another man's anatomy, even in jest. In fact, this is the first and last time that I'll type the words 'helicopter dick' or 'squat thrust' into a sentence.

I think they've finally realized it was time to let up with that particular schtick but, holy shite, it was disturbing for a while.
