More like the AD gave the school 18 million less than t usually would.

And it still doesn't come close to the 50+ million that other schools have set aside for their costs.

Basically there are major issues between the athletic people and the academic people. The athletic side has given back more to the university side than nearly any other school for years.. for the next 3 years they will be keeping 18 million instead of giving it to the school to try and help with the athletic side's money woes.

Tennessee is absolutely harder to get into than it used to be and harder than most SEC schools right now because Jimmy the booger eating Cheek is determined to make UT a top 25 research institution. Some "easy majors" have been done away with and the admissions process is more difficult.
