Why are people reacting negatively to this? This is Malzahn's offense, he'll be calling all of the shots. The OC will sit up in the box and call out adjustments and the like that he sees. Malzahn will be overseeing the hiring of the rest of the offensive staff.

I am 100% good with Lashee being hired as OC. Gus is going to run the offense, and I don't think a high profile, high dollar OC would be happy "helping" Gus run the offense.
Also, this lets us put more $$$ into the defensive and recruiting coaches.
I think Gus FINALLY is in a position to run his offense his way (last year and this year) and he is not ready to give a lot of control over to a OC.
Whenever Spurrior gives control of the offense to the OC he gets frustrated and takes control again. I see Gus being the same way.
