As bad as Texas has been the only thing standing in A&Ms way of cherry picking Houston/South East Texas is LSU.

OU still has a Dallas presence, so we are all 3 up there. Maybe if Arkansas hires a known DFW recruiter they can poke their nose in DFW too.

ETA: I'm not saying Texas is done. But there recruiting will take a big hit. They're trending down and kids know Mack won't be there for their whole career

As bad as Texas has been?!
Where is their recruiting taking a hit? You think MACK was the reason recruits went there? Its freaking TEXAS, did you not see the profits that University hauled in? Texas will always be in the mix for the best recruits in texas as long as A&M is whether you like or not.

All they need is one good season to turn sentiment around, isn't that how it works?

A&M last year 7-6. A&M this year 10-2. Seems easy enough in the Big 12 anyways.

Not to mention this year they have every bit as good a class as A&M with still all the best prospects in Texas committed, and they still aren't done like A&M.

Also, they still have stockpiled talent all over that roster on both sides of the ball. When is the recruiting dip supposed to take effect exactly?

A&M is going to have to fight Texas like always, LSU always, and if they want to rise above schools like Texas or LSU, the fastest route is to win every big recruiting battle for the next 3 years and then that talent has to pan out. The likelihood of those scenarios is very slim.

Conclusion: you are still behind and you have several years of work ahead of you just to equal the level of recruiting the LSU, Texas, and OU get from Texas.

You can either believe that or you can just take the "all it takes is a 10 win season route". And with that belief then anybody can become a powerhouse any given year, and then why even label powerhouse programs.

The aggie tall tales continue. I mean shite, these players aren't looking at frickin records all the time, you seem like you follow enough recruiting to know that. Because all this A&M logic of their "Recruiting successes" is almost based purely on their record this season.

The number 1 player is likely to commit to where? OLE MISS? Sheesh.

Out of OU's 5 top Texas targets, A&M took four of them and Texas took the 5th.

You're absolutely clueless as to what's already occurring.
As of right now, A&M is doing the best of anyone in this state, and that will improve even more when RSJ commits next week. LSU barely takes anyone from Texas anyways, so how are you going to out recruit us in this again?
OU? Are you even paying attention? Mike Sherman was recruiting at a level comparable to them. Kevin Sumlin is close to shutting them out of the state. He won numerous head to heads with them this year.

As for the sips, its not the cherry picking it used to be for them. Plus, how can you say their recruiting has been all that great when they've had as many busts as they've had, not to mention how poorly they have performed on the field.
Their recruiting is exaggerated just simply because of brand. If Im wrong on that, then explain why a team full of 4* and 5* is regularly getting its shite pushed in by teams with much less talent. Coaching is certainly a factor, but they won big with similar coaching before. Could it be recruiting services have to started to overhype them?
Tyrone Swoopes and Jake Raulerson come to mind.

LSU doesn't have one player from Texas in the '13 class.

The kid they did have was taken by TAMU.

We have absolutely dominated OU in 2013 and stood about even in head to head battles in 2012.

3/5 of our 2014 commits have Texas offers.

Your little diatribe is nothing more than wish casting.

We are running Texas right now. DWI.
