I would say track is meaningful.

I would assume with a lot of track championships, that schools like Arkansas and LSU send a lot of their track athletes to the Olympics to represent the United States against the rest of the world.

I'd say that is pretty meaningful.

The track athletes go on to compete against the best athletes on the planet. I'm definitely not ashamed to claim them.

Actually, schools like LSU, Arky, A&M, Florida, really all the SEC, has Olympic participants from all over the globe in T&F or Swim & Dive. They don't just compete for the US.
