I would wait to see what Saban has to say. If Saban promotes Smart as his successor, then who am I to dispute it? If it happened tomorrow, I would defer, and fully support Smart.

What Saban has to say--or not say--about it is key.

Well, Saban promoted Nutt as his successor at LSU, but that's cause Saban was taking muschamp to the pros with him. I think the job would and should be Kirby's if he hangs around.
I just don't know how much we are gonna have to end up paying him to do so.

He's had a lot of offers and turned them down, it's pretty obvious he wants to go to a good college and isn't going to settle for any old offer.
