I didn't think it was all that bad, but unfortunately for him it was exactly the kind of hit that the rule was designed for, right down to the description in the rule book.
Those calls and rules are weak as hell, IMHO. They wear helmets and pads for a reason. That crap would be more suitable for a flag football league wear you're running around in t-shirts and shorts.

It was helmet to helmet and AJ knew it was coming. Was a helmet to helmet hit and penalty was correctly called.
The hit on Murray was a blindside chickenshit hit.
Not even remotely the same type of hits. The one on Murray was flat dirty.

No there aren't any threads on it because believe it or not...most of us Alabama fans aren't whiny pussies like we're made out to be. I watched the game again and followed the game thread while doing so and the LSU fans in it are RIDICULOUS.

People calling the Dial hit dirty blow my mind. I never seen a QB run over to a ball carrier and NOT get blown up. Get this...sometimes the ball carrier looks for the QB and crushes him. Their helmets hit pretty hard and a penalty should have been thrown but that's it. Jesus Christ we have some whiny people on this board.

It wasn't dirty or anything but his helmet CRUSHES AJs in the chin. It looked like he might have tried to get a shoulder in there but it was mostly helmet.

Agree. Did ref miss the hit and should have thrown a flag. Absolutely.
Did it make any difference at all in the game? No. Could have if Murray had gotten hurt but he was okay in the second half. No need for suspension. My guess is that Saban or someone else had a few words with the guy that threw the block.
I guess since it is Bama that got away with it is the reason this block has any legs at all. Thankfully Murray was okay and did not get hurt.
Had no bearing on the game at all. Time to turn the page and move on.
