Do any other Catholics feel like they have to root for ND regardless of whether or not you still practice Catholicism?

No. If I was Pope I would excommunicate their fans.

No, I root for other catholic schools I have a bigger relationship with. I already have a football team I cheer for

See, I thought that if you were raised catholic you were automatically an ND fan.
I was raised to be one, but I've also got family that went there.

It works this way. Not kidding.
I started a Catholic thread but didn't realize you had one going so I RA'd mine.

I come from a very catholic family, my dads best friend was a QB at ND and his other good friend was a LB, but he is not a fan and I was never taught to be a fan either.

Even my HS tried to copy everything Notre Dame.
We just changed the blue to purple.

Does that mean the Mormons have to pull for ND too

I come from a Catholic family, my late grandparents were from that region of the country and were big Notre Dame fans. But I grew up in the state of Alabama and graduated from The University of Alabama. My allegiance to the Crimson Tide is absolute.

Well at least you might have that NC trophy to hold on to while you're melting in the bowels of hell for eternity.

I thought there was already a thread on this. Anyway, Notre Dame is not the face of the Catholic Church.

There was. It was this one.

It is the collegiate face of the catholic church.

The thing that cracks me up is Te'o is a Mormon.
I'm a Protestant infidel so I love rooting against the Golden Domers and their sanctimonious arrogance. Reminds me a lot of the holier than thou Baptists at Baylol, though not quite as bad.
Fun fact. Texas A&M has more Catholic students than Notre Dame.

I don't like jesus and god and all that jazz, but I do feel like being catholic makes me better than protestants.
