And Goodwin has to reel it in a little bit. You can't plow guys over on the way to the basket and hope they call the foul. He got away with a few today.

I think WCS hit the nail on the head after the Baylor game. They are not last years team. To be honest, I think last years team spoiled most of us, but they were once a decade talented and selfless. Any of the 7 that got significant playing time last year could drop 25 and were totally ok with scoring 10 if the team won. This team looks like they are just showing up and expecting to win based on their talent, which I think is very typical of a team full of deer in headlights freshmen. This team I believe very much resembles the Brandon Knight led Kentucky team that was drilled by Connecticut in Maui that everyone wrote off when they continued to lose SEC road games, but made the Final Four. That team did at least have upperclassmen like Harrelson and and Miller to keep the kids on track. I think the biggest thing is making these kids realize that EVERY team they play is going to come at their heads and they are going to have to match that intensity, because without that they are going to be flat. I see no need to worry just yet, because they are still working out the kinks in an offense that has 3 or 4 guys capable of leading the team in scoring but have no proven way to get them the ball yet, but that will definitely come with time. Each of the last 3 years, Cal's teams have gotten progressively better as the year went on. Along with all of this, making these kids play against a zone in practice and telling them how to handle it would obviously help them a lot as well.

We missed a total of like 22-23 shots from 5 feet in someone said. Noel missed at least 7 himself.

21 offensive rebouds for 6 points is pathetic.

There is too much one on one ball. They play bad defense, they get back in transition defense poorly, and overall don't hustle. Until they commit to team ball, and playing within the system, they will fail. It will start with defense.

My opinion, and I LOVE my Kats:

Poythress: looks lethargic, and completely disinterested. Always in slow motion.

Noel: Zero touch around the basket. Catches the ball in the middle of the zone and doesn't attack.

Goodwin: (my favorite) Wreckless and immature. Extremely skilled, but not polished. Best athlete on the floor most nights.

Mayes: Beast. Plays within himself and the system.

Witjer: Lost his mojo - seriosuly. He's in sophomore slump. Quit you-tubing and shoot an hour before and after practice. Complete liability on defense - pathetic post defender.

Cauley-Stein: Needs more floor time. Too athletic to sit, and makes things happen more times than not on the floor. He will be a beast before it is all said and done.

Harrow: Silky-smooth, just needs some floor time. Needs to prove a consistent jumper.
