Michigan already got destroyed by one SEC team, what would you prove by beating them
Interestingly enough, Michigan and Bama both pocketed $4.7 million for playing that game.
Roughly the same payout per team as what the Capital One Bowl paid out in Jan 2012 -- the largest payout for a non-BCS bowl.
Why should Bama be the only team to get paid handsomely for destroying Michigan?

aTm would get ~$200,000 more from the Cap1 (somewhere around $1.35MM).
It is really a negligible amount because of the extra travel costs from Dallas to Orlando from College Station.
Edit: I used the payout numbers from when the SEC had 12 members. Actually, each member will be losing a bit of money because in 2010, 10 teams made bowls, split 12 ways. This year 9 teams will split among 14.
