Obviously I thought A&M would be a mid road start in the SEC. But didn't expect where they are. Is it due to Sumlin being a great coach? Or is it because Manziel is the real deal? Guess well all no for sure when all the SEC teams clamp down on him like LSU did in the second half.

They had a good team this year. They still lost 2 games, just like us though, so don't overhype them. We'll see if their qb can stay out of jail this off season.

Manziel is a great talent, but mark my words... there is no way in hell he sustains the success he had this year through next year. Teams will start to figure him out, and have a full season of game tape to shut him down. He will have some big games, and Texas A&M will be a good team, but I don't see him breaking his own records or even coming close.

To answer the question, they have a good coach with a player who had a great season. People were wondering this same thing after Cam/Chizik in 2010.

Manziel is definitely a great player, but their o-line was stacked with NFL talent this year. they're going to lose some starters next year and it's not going to be as easy for Manziel.

they had a good year, I give them credit, but I see them getting figured out and struggling next year.

also, from some of the TA&M games I watched, their receivers never drop ANYTHING. if the ball was near them, they caught it. so kudos to their receivers.

I've always wanted to see that system in a team with Talent.

I think it's here to stay.

As they will continue to bring in great classes.

Mehh, Gus's Spread and Sumlin's air raid are completely different.

And People knew Chizik was a sham.
The guy has never had success as a head coach but that year.

Their O-Line is legit. He'll come back to earth if they lose talent to the NFL.

Excellent results for player (we'll see what happens now that teams have more film on him), solid coach.

Eh... I don't know. His style seems to be to run around like a chicken with it's head cut off and then throw up a prayer that his great receivers make nice plays on. He did all that running around with a very good O-line, which doesn't make any sense. Next year he should have a reason to keep doing that. If they keep their receivers I think they could be OK even without the NFL line. Sumlin is a good coach though, so time will tell.

Maybe I should have rephrased that to Malzahn. I wasnt comparing offenses, but rather was stating that one player can make a coach look a hell of a lot better than he really is.
