Before I hear it, I completely agree with anyone that just wants this season to be over as soon as possible. And I completely agree that we don't deserve a bowl.

But, what are the chances we do get an invite with the amount of teams that are ineligible for bowl season and the ACC's lack of teams with 6 wins.

I just have a feeling we may very well be going to Memphis regardless of what happens.

I have nothing to justify one way or the other as I don't know how this works. Getting in with 5 wins just feels dirty and cheap though.

Dirty cheap and embarrassing. I guess you do it for the $$$ but man not really interested. Mogray, as to your question of the chances, I have no idea.

I didn't realize we could actually get a bowl with 5 wins. But, I'm stupid.

I'm in the same boat, I have no idea how this works. I didn't even know it was possible, but it seems to be mentioned here and there... was wondering if one of you guys had any insight.

Hope everyone had a good thanksgiving.

It is possible, and I do believe that there is a shortage of bowl-eligible teams. If there is, then being in the SEC we would get one of the first calls.

Just tried to read up on it, only thing I really found was someone explain that simply there are 70 bowl slots and some 5 win teams would get in if there aren't enough bowl eligible teams (6-6).

As to the criteria for 5 win teams getting in no clue. We really have no marquee wins to justify that though. Arizona State or UCF would be our biggest win and I don't think that's enough.

This speaks volumes on the season.

I believe that when these panels for each bowl game decides on teams to play in thier games, they look at how well the fanbase travels also. Their main objective is to get two teams that will fill the stands. I think this would be more pronounced if they were dealing with teams with 5 or less wins. Which ones would bring more fans and sell more tickets and attract sponsorships.
