I'm not saying this to discredit anyone winning the Heisman this year, but it's not exactly a huge year for star players in general. Lot of very good players out there, but will likely be a lot spread out votes and no run away winner.

Media plays into when it comes down to the final weeks, and Klein will see the effect of it negatively while Manziel rides a wave of momentum from the Bama game. I believe they are more likely to give it to a Freshman than a Defender that doesn't play special teams. They softened to sophomores, so Freshman will be that way eventually.

Lot of pressure on him though, he wins it that early and still has 3 years to live up to that standard. I don't think he leaves early, so I think it's 3 more years. It won't be another Archie Griffin situation as in they feel "obligated" to give him another because he was a returning player with good stats...

This is definitely true. I don't know Marquis Lee's stats from tonight, but I consider him the best player in the country. Someone mentioned that he won't win the HT because his team will have 5 losses. That is a valid point. But it's a valid point because the voters tie too much importance to team accomplishments when it's an individual award.

Marquis Lee can't help that his coach is semi retarded, his QB has midget hands, and his team's D coordinator is actually a dead guy being held up by popsicle sticks and bailing wire.

ETA: I pretty much hate all things Southern Cal, so saying that I think Lee is the best player in the country is me rising above my biases. Like I did when I admitted that I think Manziel is ridiculously talented as well.
