@bmarcello: F Colin Borchert also suspended today by Rick Ray for violation of team rules. Six (!) scholarship players will make trip to Maui.

With Jalen out as well, it's about to get ugly. I hope Lewis doesn't twist an ankle getting off the plane and Thomas get stung by a killer jellyfish.

I love how when Baxter goes in to play in the last couple minutes and the crowd gets unusually loud when he even gets close to the ball.

God help us if he ever makes a shot

Baxter played in the first half the other night. That was with 8 scholarship players.

Not sure that Baxter would play in the first half at my high school.

THIS

The kid is on the team b/c his grandfather is a HUGE booster and also he helps keep up Team GPA.
Good kid with a lot of heart, but probably the worst player in the SEC.

And NCAA drug tests, I don't know how those work but good players don't have to take them very often.

Strike "probably". It makes you sound wishy-washy.

To be fair, he only got in with like 4 seconds left. They literally took a field goal and someone(I think Fred) shot it to the other end as time expired.

Steele was also out by then as well...

He would have never seen the floor without Steele being injured

OK here's my question, Why don't we have better walkons on our team? At least guys who are halfway athletic and averaged more than 8ppg in HS.

Here's Baxter's HS creditials from NW Rankin LINK
quote:

Limited to just seven games senior season due to an ankle injury. ... Jason Broom's Cougars posted a 16-13 ledger, and Price averaged around 8 points in the seven games he played. ... His best outing came against Grenada in opening round of the divisional playoffs where he totaled five points and dished out seven assists. ... Received the Crouther Award (named in honor of former coach Michael Crouther, who was killed in a car wreck in 2007) in recognition for sportsmanship and great attitude. ... Junior year, he was a backup guard and NW Rankin went 16-14 and barely missed the playoffs. ... As a freshman, his ninth-grade team won the Little Six Conference for the third year in a row.

Stansbury type shite. We won't have Baxter's in the future. That's what always infuriated me. I'm sure Baxter is a good kid and all, but did Stans really expect Baxter Price or Charles Parker to give Bost a good look out there scrimmaging? Let's be real. I saw some incredible talent in the Sanderson Center just playing pick up games that could help us out as far as walk ons. Solid HS players all over the state would love to be a part of a SEC program, but Stans usually gave the walkon spots to prominent booster's relatives.

Wonder why Coach Ray didn't take any extra walk-ons when he had his open tryouts back in September?
