So, one of you pointed out last night that we were "coach killers" and put nails in the coffins of both Joker Phillips and, presumably, Derek Dooley.

Thought I'd share this little gem from the Columbia Tribune...
quote:

Last month, Tennessee Coach Derek Dooley had hip surgery. Judging by some of his conservative decisions during regulation, one wondered if the surgeon's scalpel had slipped and snipped something else.

Ouch!! After thinking about it, I'm not sure I like this moniker for us - does it imply that are not a worthy team, and that a loss to us is an embarrassment? I want us to be considered a dangerous team, one that won't quit, and I want to see us respected.

Discuss amongst yourselves...

I like to think we also helped Petrino walk the plank at the flagship by stealing DGB (Hog Lock).

Hopefully we will take some of that shine off Sumlin in a couple weeks.

I say we enjoy it while we are thought of as a doormat. They'll learn soon enough when we get a healthy experienced QB and OLine.

Meh, we aren't going to garner any respect in this conference until we start winning big games. Until that happens we'll always be a team that other teams in the SEC think they should beat. Even if it isn't the case.

The Coach Killer thing is ok with me. There hasn't been too much to be positive about so far, so I'll go with it. Those two were dead men walking anyway, wether they would haven beaten us or not.

Much like my Shreveport or bust mantra, I'm just trying to find something positive to define the season for me personally. I can't waste most of my Saturdays watching mostly crappy football and not rationalize it. This doesn't mean I'm particularly happy about it.

It seems that it's a timing thing. These teams have been festering long before we played them.

I can see your point though. It appears that if they can't beat Mizzou, they can't beat anyone. But I think these coaching troubles have been there long before we play them. In one case we're kind of thanked for this, like with aTm.

It really does'nt bother me too much. This site has engrained that in me the more I come here.

Run what ya brung. You either win or lose.

We are a team that makes coaches quit. Nothing more to it.
