Interesting observation - LSU fans seem more upset by this than Bama fans. I would suggest they feel threatened, but they would just scoff as if aTm isn't a real long-term competitor. Bammers seem a bit more clear-headed on the subject.

I'm not downing aTm, but I will say this: if you want to be competitive long-term in this conference, that offense isn't the way to go about it. It relies too much on particular individual players, e.g. JFbs, which makes your entire fate hinge upon the health and mental clarity of one, maybe two, player(s). Unless you can recruit a JFbs every two years, it won't work as a program building strategy - see Tubberville's last year at Auburn; Myer/Tebow at Florida; Nutt's wildcat at Ark and UM, etc. Initial success based upon personnel, but disasters once those people were hurt or moved on.
