A&M is playing LSU, Arkansas, Alabama and Auburn every year. You can realign the divisions however you want around that.

I think this topic has come up before and had lots of discussion. ;)
The basic format makes since. You always have 3 permanent opponents(rival games if you will) and rotate every 2 years 5 teams groups as OP noted.
What is nice about this set up is a player has a chance to play at every SEC venue in a 4 year time frame.
However, as has been noted, handling of the champ game would be hard.
It will get interesting to see what happens once the 4 team playoff starts. The SEC champ could basically be a quarterfinal game that actually hurts the SEC from getting 2 teams in the playoff.
