Yes. Their defense is much improved from years past and their offense is even better. I'd take Oregon to win straight up.

Oregon's defense?

The one that just gave up 50+ points?

USC scored a season-high 51 points last week. The 124th ranked Colorado defense held them to fewer points.

I really don't see much of a difference this year than any other under Kelly. They have a top 5 ranked offense each year regardless of who is in the lineup.

I have a feeling the only challenge Bama would face in the NCG would be Oregon. KSU and Notre Dame would be a slaughter.

Hasn't this book been written before? Unstoppable force meets immovable object in the national title game? The team with the defense always wins. Hell even Auburn's 2010 defense shut down Oregon. Oregon wins so big in the Pac 12 because they exploit a huge speed mismatch. Against a defense like Alabama, there will be no mismatch to exploit. Oregon also plays such a unique style that a week is not enough time to plan for it. Over a month of planning and practice for a guy like Saban will neutralize this.

Take away the mismatches that are neutralized and at its core Oregon is a small team with pitiful OL and DL play, no goal line power ability, and has a QB who has never had to pass the ball to win before. I think Alabama would win 45-20 or so. Bama is better at every position on the field and would dominate the line of scrimmage with ease.
