How can we pull more legitimate posters to this board?

I thought the same thing. QCC doesn't post much anymore do to work, but I haven't heard much on here from SpringBok, THUNDERCOCK, and some others who frequent the SEC Rant. Mostly new guys on here, and the topics die out fast. I think it may have had something to do with Lattimore's injury, the two losses, and then the bye week. Hopefully it will pick up!

No shame there. I've been the same way. I still get excited for the games, but only to the extent of watching our team play. A few weeks ago my excitement level was much MUCH higher.

Now I'm just biding my time until the Clemson game. Arkansas won't be a pushover though.

I think you nailed it. We're in a lull, that's all. We needed a breather as fans. The final run begins this weekend and we still have a shot at a BCS invite if we win them all.

I'm still very excited for Gamecock football, but I've also learned over the years that when our team has a losing stretch, fails at a big opportunity, or something bad happens that the USC msg board fanbase typically goes into hyper-meltdown drive, and I have zero tolerance these days for such idiocy.

So I typically stay away from the msg boards - or I should say I stay away from USC fanbase-driven topics on those msg boards - for a week or so. Now we have another game week, and I'm getting back into it...

3. Profit.

After being here for my 3rd season I'm just so used to talking SC stuff at the Big Spur and when I come here (which is all the time) I always forget we have a board and spend all my time reading all the conference wide crap.

I know it's a while away but this board might pick up during baseball season. GCock fans need a place to go where more people know and love baseball (aka SEC fans who know there is a 'big three'). I doubt we can get more posters here just because of basketball season.

Makes it even more sweet when your team is usually always the big game that week.

In the SEC anyways. Here lately, everyone has wanted a piece of South Carolina.

I hope that holds true this year. 3 out of 4 ain't bad, right?

I have a subscription to GCC, but rarely post there. I read it for the insider stuff and the articles -- and ignore the crap from a lot of the posters. And completely stay off FGF.

I occasionally check the Rivals main board, yet that too is overrun with flaming and other idiocy.

I don't know how Chicken managed it, but the Rant is an amazingly successful interweb community. Flaming is minimal -- and what there is, is pretty high quality funny stuff. I'm fine with adding more Gamecock posters, but honestly am happy with a moderate number of cool people posting. Unless you have a really good moderator, too many posters on a board makes it unreadable, viz. FGF.
