Kliff has corrected this and will now run it right down your throat with only 4-5 defenders in the box.
I went back and looked at the last three games, when LSU went to a 3 man front inexorably KK didn’t use the RB’s more. No one is sure why. But the offense stalled out over the course of the game as LSU adjusted to the passing game and A&M didn’t switch it up. After that game, the RB attempts and consequently the rushing yardage shot up for Auburn and MSU (I realize there are significant talent differences). But I think the evidence supports it.
In the LSU game A&M had a significant number of 3 man front’s but only rushed (RB’s not Manziel) 20 times out of 94 for a total of 109 yards.
Auburn(without Manziel) RB carries went up to 35 out of 81 offensive plays and generated 256 yards.
Against MSU the RB carries fell to 32 out of 97 and generated 188 yards.
The A&M RB’s aren’t slouches, going into the season it was generally thought that they were one of the best RB units in CFB.
tl;dr When A&M uses its RB’s in the offense more it generates greater offensive productivity.
