LSU also did stuff that the Alabama secondary hadn't seen LSU do before. Someone on the radio said that, before the game in Tiger Stadium Saturday night, LSU had not run play action fakes. They did play action all freaking night.

The PA pass was a direct result of Bama at times not stacking the box. LSU hasn't run PA passes simply because we've already typically had 8 men in the box already.

As explained to me succinctly, what good is a PA pass against a stacked box? Everyone's already committing to the run presnap already?

Now, the rollouts, moving pocket stuff, throws on the run, & the middle and short throws to the Tight End? That's some new wrinkles. Makes one wonder where they were.

But then again, those throws were to Nic Jacobs whose a RS Freshman. We may not have really had him at a point from a scheme grasp perspective where we could count on him in the passing game.
