Someone with a proven track record like Tubby, Tommy Bowden, Ron Zook, or Cutcliffe would be best for Kentucky to stabilize the program.

Tuberville can probably hit 6 wins easier at Texas Tech than he could at UK. Why would he make the move?

Bowden fits the older guy currently out of a HC job but getting 8 wins at a place like Clemson may not translate to 6 wins at UK

Zook was not killing it at Illinois so how would he do better at UK?

Cutcliffe started hot but could easily finish 6-6 in the ACC Costal (you know the division without FSU and Clemson) this year. He had an enviable record for UK when he was at Ole Miss but back then Saban was at LSU and Holtz was still at USC.

The question is will UK go safe and try to build long term or go young with a much higher failure rate but more possible upside if it works.

Yes, that is the question.

Of all the names mentioned, I like the Fresno State coach the most from what I have read about them. He's young, only been a HC for one year (kind of a knock against him), but was a DC, and a Air Force graduate, so I expect he would bring discipline. Their 3 losses this year are to Oregon, Boise State, and Tulsa.

I think Mitch will go with an older proven HC to try to bring some stability.
