You can argue that Oregon's offense is better than A&M but it isn't because of speed. They have been doing it longer in the same system. Remember that JFF was an Oregon commit that A&M pulled away and actually A&M and Oregon go toe to toe in recruiting fairly often as Oregon loves the Spread offense talent in Texas. Oregon has a better defense than A&M though.

I also would argue JFF has seen some pretty damn good pass rushers at least try to get him, Montgomery and Mingo are pretty good. He just has the security blanket of 2 All American level OT's to help with that.

As to the OP, I think it is an interesting point. Football games often aren't determined by who is the most talented but by who is the better matchup. LSU and Bama are clones of one another except Bama clearly has a better offense. That's why they are 10 point dogs. They absolutely could win but they really don't match up well with Bama.

A&M may end up as a bigger dog to Bama and clearly don't have as good of a defense as LSU but their offense could cause Bama problems. A&M's O has home run threats all over it and may be able to find some cracks in the Bama D. The defense isn't deep but may be able to hold. Perhaps Bama has some unexpected turnovers. It's also a huge advantage to catch Bama AFTER LSU, it's going to be a challenge even for the mighty Saban to get his team super jacked up 2 weeks in a row.

I think Bama has about a 75% chance of winning both games. They are the best team on paper by a good margin. I also see the point though of basically picking A&M because at least they have more of an X factor. This is especially true because of how badly Bama beat LSU in the MNC game and the perception being that LSU isn't as strong as they were then while Bama may actually be better. I certainly could see LSU winning at night in Tiger Stadium but in a strange way I could see that working to Bama's advantage as well. There is no sneaking up on Bama for LSU but A&M may have at least some chance at surprise. Still can't really see either team being strong enough to close the deal though, Bama is just too good this year.

I also think that any close calls will go Bama's way because now Bama needs to go undefeated to make sure the SEC can keep the streak alive and we aren't watching an Oregon vs ND/K State MNC game while the SEC has a group of 1 loss teams.

Uh, no. Oregon is pretty much all run this year, while Texas A&M ranks in the top 15 in both rushing and passing offense.

That is not to say A&M is better. Quite the opposite.

Think he is just saying that LSU Plays right into Alabamas hands. A&M is at least a curveball that could create some matchup problems.

Les isn't going to play into their hands this time around. Gurantee he's going to have some new stuff to show BAMA. Our backs are against the wall so to speak and hes not going out again like that!

So the Total O for both teams is basically identical though A&M Is balanced with the pass and run and yet Oregon is better because they run more? Oregon averages 6.18 yards per rush while A&M averages 5.81 so we aren't talking about some massive difference here either.

Oh, and there is the small fact that A&M has played against 2 Top 10 Defenses while Oregon hasn't played anyone that can spell defense yet.

I'm sure that at any given time A&M has a better chance to score than LSU does against Bama but as we saw against LSU, A&M is prone to turnovers against good defenses so I highly doubt they have much of a chance to win. I would take LSU's offense as long as we are able to connect on some deep passes down field to make Bama's defense respect the pass a little bit. Will that happen? Guess we will find out in a couple of days!

Not mad. Would be like getting mad at my 4 year old nephew for the things he says.

I'm just exhausted by delusional Aggie fans.

LSU beat you at your place throwing for less than 100 yards. Do you actually think you will do better against Bama in their place with the most effecient QB in college to date.

Mccarron is vastly overrated by you gumps, he's a great game manager, but he doesn't have to be anything more with that defense and run game.
I was never trying to compare Mett to him, Mett has a much higher ceiling

1) Anybody saying LSU is a carbon copy of Bama is a frickin idiot. Comparable on several levels except two. LSU has a chitty QB and even worse WRs.

2) Hopefully A&M has figured the offense and Bama will be a good game. FL made adjustments and shut us down in the second half. QB's first college game ever but also the OC's first game with this team. They couldn't make adjustments. LSU was loaded with talent and they forced us into some mistakes but it was mistakes we made on our own that cost us the win. And we stopped running when we got behind even though we avg 4.5/6.5 with our RBs.

3) Bama is the ONLY team that can beat A&M if the Aggies play a great game at this point. Crappy as Auburn was, it showed our OC (not just JFF) has figured out to let Johnny beat the rush OR just pound the rock if they sit back to contain him.

He never said anything about Mett being a carbon copy of Mcarron, he said except offensively. He also said that LSU and Bama are built the same. I think overall Bama this year is a better team than us. We beat ya'll at Kyle field, that does not bode well for you. Herbie is a dip shite A&M poses no more or less of a threat than LSU. We can just as easily pull the win out as A&M. I say being at home we have the better shot becuase of home field and defense. IMHO
