Of course not. The southerner kicked his arse.

Slavery played a part. That does not stop me from thinking it was an illegal war, despising Lincoln, being happy the bastard got his brains blown out when he did, or wishing we never went North to Gettysburg.

Yup, with a weapon against an unarmed man. Funny part is that Brooks did it because of a Speech that made fun of his uncle.
It was not an Illegal war it was an illegal secession by the southern states and what do you think was going to happen.
