I understand the 3-5 record, but your losses are to #1, #6, #7, #8, #15 currently in the BCS.

Other than the Bama game Tenn was in every game until the end. Tennessee put up more points&yards against UF,UGA,SC,MSU than anyone else did.

South Carolina has one of the best D in the nation. UT put up 472 yard and 35 points. in comparison, UGA put up 7 points against SC.
Florida couldn't score one TD against Georgia. UT put up 478 yards and 44 points against Georgia.

But at the end of the day 3-5 is what matters. Dooley always find ways to lose close games no matter what. you can just about bet that UT will somehow frick up at the end. every.single.time.

I think UT has 2 options:
1. a big splash hire
2. if it's another meh hire we might as keep Dooley for 1 more year. but DC Sal must go. UT has the worst defense in the SEC and I don't see him turning it around to an elite defense.

We'd have at least 5 wins with a top 50 defense. A defense that was top 25 last year with almost all the same players, and upgrades along the DL (Sentimore and McCullers)

only definite loss would habe been Bama.

In hopes that Gruden changes his mind after a year? Keeping Dooley is pointless.
