Giving up two TD's in the redzone when we would normally have run Dak in but instead kept Russell

But yeah, Mullen needs to turn over speacial teams to someone else, maybe Brewster. It is killing us

That isn't on Koenning. We just drove 97 yards on Bama. Russell made the right throw. Maybe not enough zip b/c that safety made a heck of a read on that play. If Dak was in, then it was obvious what we would run. Bama isn't the type of team you can do that to. I'd actually say we dont' have the type RB to pound it in against Bama. Maybe Robinson can be that in the future.

BTW, if we start getting some halfway decent receivers for the future, Dak is going to be one helluva good QB.

I agree to an extent someone called some very bonehead plays in the redzone. Tyler should have rolled out the first play on the 97 yard drive. Why in the world do we try and take it up the middle twice against Bama. That was dumb in itself. And if someone should have been in to run it should have been Nick Griffin.

We put up the 2nd most yds any team has put up on Bama this year. They are THAT good. Les is a good OC

Personally, I think he's doing his job. The whole game our players did poor job. Running wrong routes, blown coverages (saftey not covering on top, and the LB missing assignments), not getting the sacks that we had. To be honest, I think we felt the pressure and caved.

Special teams is an issue! For sure.

I don't understand why Nick Griffin isn't getting more carries, he hit all his blocks and had a solid pick up the one time he got the ball. It was apparent Saturday that he has stepped into the 2 spot but if he gets 1 carry for 9 yards why limit him? At least give him 1 or 2 more opportunities IMO.

There was a lot of chatter on the B&B show today on BSR about getting away from what has worked for us all year. That was my original argument, that we did in fact get away from our usual goal line offense and red zone offense.

Because if you put Dak In they stack the box, your odds are better to spread things out with Russell against Bama's front 7. It wasn't a bad play call either the safety just made a great read. Their players making great plays like that isn't something you can control, running wrong routes, missing tackles, and blown coverages are.
