That's how LSU rolls. We don't want to be up big we want to stay close and take what is given. Les will play smashmouth football and take over in the 4th quarter. With all of this said, A&M gave us more than we wanted and I feel lucky to come away with the win.

The two best teams in the west play a similar style with OK offense and outstanding defense. If A&M insists on running the spread they will continue to lose. Defense wins in the SEC not offense. If a team can dominate in both then they will be unstoppable. A&M has a ways to go to get to the elite level that is Alabama and LSU.

Maybe this has already been covered but the only part of many pass happy attacks I wonder about is when play calling becomes aggressive to the point of simply poor game management.

There's one moment from A&M / LSU that sticks out: LSU scores after an interception about a minute and a half before halftime and pins A&M at their 18 yard line on the ensuing kickoff.

Against an LSU that lives off defense created opportunities in a game where LSU's offense isn't doing much, am I the only one who thought it was crazy for A&M to come out guns blazing, hurry up at that point?

I recall thinking at the beginning of that A&M drive, that the odds this strategy ends with a LSU score instead of an A&M one is probably 10-1.

I don't know about Bama yet, but A&M is on par with LSU. Deny that all you want. The game and scoreboard disagree with you.
