“We’re sitting here with the largest debt service in the conference and by far the smallest reserve. Our reserve is under $2 million. We compete with people at $50-$100 million in reserves. That’s a challenge. I think we have some good ideas and good plans. I think that’s short-term in the sense of us being able to come out of that. - Tennessee AD

Hart also said the job of trying to keep UT up with the Joneses on the recruiting front is made more challenging by the Tennessee’s cash issues

I like our chances bring on the coaching search and show them the money Hogs!

I'm sure he is more concerned about finding a HC for the browns than blowing money on the losing prospect that is Tennessee football.

Exactly. Money will not be an issue for either school's boosters.

Also the University takes more from its football revenue than any other program.

Valid question has been raised..

"So can UT afford to buyout Dooley and staff, hire a new staff and pay that head coach’s buyout from his current school? Or must the Volunteers make a change with Dooley in order to up season-ticket sales (not a guaranteer) and bring in more revenue?"

Hmm...

Jim Haslam does not have anything to do with the Browns. That is his son.

Big Jim is Dave Hart's boss for all intents and purposes.

Tennessee is about to lose the house and end up in the super poor trailer park.

According to your AD you've now moved into last place on this chart.. Not good, especially if you need Boosters to help while you add more debt with a buyout.

Don't forget they have to come up with the money to buy out the Oregon game if they want to try and make a bowl game next year.

Then come up with Dooley's buy out.

I knew that chart was coming, however that has literally nothing to do with hiring a coach.

Big Jim can do whatever he wants went it comes to Dooley/Gruden/etc.

As evident from the fact that Derek Dooley is the coach at Tenner.

Or the fact that they hired Kiffen who wasn't even given a courtesy interview at Arkansas after he called about our opening in 07.

That's a solid B team. Not scoffing but I will smirk.

Founders and sons of Walmart, Tyson, JB Hunt, Murphy's Oil or Stephen's Media & Inc for starters.
