It's not JUST about SEC titles. Those 6 have historically and traditionally are the best 6 teams in the conference. Bama and UT are the unquestioned top 2 and both in the top 10ish programs ever, with UGA/UF/LSU/AU all kinda right next to each other in that 10-17ish range.

SC has a history of losing, and losing bad. They hadn't done jack shite until the 21st century. The big 6 will always be the big 6, history doesn't get erased after a few years good or bad.

I agree with most of your post, but I wouldn't say the big 6 will "always" be the big 6. If you go back 50 years then Ole Miss would have been included, but Florida would not have been.

IMO, a formerly decent team could join the Big 6 with a dominant run of 5-10 years. But it takes longer than that to fall out of the Big 6. Maybe 10-20 years of being a doormat.

Also, in all time winning%,
06. UA
09. UT
12. LSU
13. UGA
15. AU
16. UF
then a gap to A&M at 23.
Of course this includes ancient history and the perception can be overcome by winning conference a couple of times, winning a NC, etc.

Obviously being charter schools, they have had more opportunities to win the SEC.

SC doesn't have good history, everyone knows this, but most SC fans don't give a shite because we like to live in the present instead of worrying about a game that was played 100 years ago. Floating around as a Independent for 20 years before joining the SEC really set our program back because we came in with some of the worst facilities compared to the rest of the SEC.

I'll worry about the present while y'all fap to a game played in 1934.
