A meniscal injury can be bad or not so bad. It depends on if it is stable or not. If it is a small tear this could be nothing. But there are meniscal tears that are unstable and can cause a lot of problems. Eventually, he will get degenerative change because he is losing his shock absorber. All of these football players have pain in their futures.

I've seen 20 something year olds with knees that look like 60 something. That is how bad football is for yor body.

Most likely he will be fine as long as it is an isolated injury.
