I wasn't on this site, but I've been on many others going waaaaay back. I was on rec.sport.football.college back in the mid-90's.

One particular argument I remember before Saban was hired sticks out-- I remember a Michigan fan on another board telling me that Bama wouldn't be able to hire a top-notch coach again because the program was totally irrelevant. I try not to hold grudges but this season's Michigan game was particularly sweet.

I was here. It was hell 24-7.

Y'all want to get better? Get rid of Jay Jacobs, period.

Get rid of Pat Dye, he should NOT be the voice of AU ever.

Get a head coach that will tell old farts like Pat Dye to hit the curb and will run the AU program his way and y'all will be thankful in a couple of years. There's just no reason AU can't field competitive sports teams.

As someone who started lurking message boards in '99-'00 (I think?) & first joined a sports message board (Tider Insider, lulz) the day Fran was hired and had to go through suffer through all those shitty years, the success we are enjoying right now is very satisfying.

Most of these Bama fans that have only been fans since Saban was hired have no idea how shitty it was to go through all the bullshite hires, NCAA investigations, losing to our rivals every year, "moral victories", etc. in the online era.

Life is, and has been for the last 5 seasons, very, very good.
