What are the chances Arky gets him and is he the #1 candidate at the moment.

He is the media's #1 candidate, this isn't exactly where he falls on Jeff Long's list, which is different from each individual influential booster's list, which is different than your average fan's list.

I don't see Charlie Strong getting Arkansas to the level of winning that Petrino had them. I see a lot of 8-5 seasons.

I think he would be a good hire but it would take more than 2 years considering the recruiting hit arky is taking

Yes hiring an interim coach who has a bad season similar to the same thing that happened at Ohio State and UNC last year is really going to hurt us with kids who are currently in 7th grade.

Not to mention whatever coach gets there is probably not going to run the same kind of program, or recruit the same kind of players.

Arkansas needs a coach that is a good X's and O's coach and a recruiter. Petrino was good at spotting underrated talent and developing talent but those kind of coaches are hard to come by. Arkansas needs a coach that can come in and recruit and build pipelines so that talent will keep coming in.
