I've said it before and I'll say it again: the Grove is extremely overrated. Is it fun? Sure. Is it the best tailgating atmosphere in the country? Not even in the top 10.

Well, I'm biased as frick, but I think Ole Miss has a better tailgating experience, but LSU is close behind. I just greatly enjoy how close everyone is in the Grove.

I guess that explains why there are 10 other schools above us that have articles constantly telling others about how great their tailgating is compared to the rest of the country.

Anywhere but the grove.

I see how you get down.
One of my neighbors is a A&M grad. They like to keep it real by taking the motor home down to Legion Field for the game.

LSU is great(Food)don't care for drunktards scaring the beheebies out of my kids :lol, The Vol Navy is cool as hell. Everyone shoving drinks into your hands and you're drunk as hell by the time you get to the docks.. The grove was better way back when, but its the same ole same ole now. Florida sucks, Everyone there walking around doing the gator chomp in your face with yankee accents. Auburn was better than I thought it would be as friendly as Bama tailgaters.

11 am kickoff probably had something to do with that as well
That has everything to do with it. You'll have to come back and see Auburn play someone else because I don't see that game moving from time slot.

11 am games kill everyones tailgating. College Football games shouldn't start before 230 PM.
I've been to the best tailgating schools at night and then back at 11 am and its literally night and day in terms of atmosphere and # of people.

A bunch of Northeners discovering that not everyone wears a jersey to football games doesn't influence my decision.

Not really sure why the grove is thought of as one of the top tailgate parties in the country.
When I went they told us that we couldn't hold a beer can, it needed to be in a cup and they would not allow open flames, so no grills.
Yeah it makes for a cool picture because everyone is all together but it is not practical. Not much room at all to do anything. If you want to have a big tailgate party with 50-100 friends like we do, you are shite out of luck because the space is hard to find. You can't even sling a football around for crying out loud.
And the worse part was all the people that were shipping in the food from trucks.
The pride of LSU and Louisiana culture is the food and the people (the more the better). Cooking the food is part of the celebration. Being able to hang out with family and friends is cherished. And showing others a good time is a mission!
I guess its like someone said earlier, its what your accustomed to doing.
In the end any tailgating is better than none at all but at LSU it just has a little extra spice to it! GEAUX TIGERS!

Mine is the best because I'm there.
Have their been more offseason threads this year during the season than ever before?
OM - yay
UF - boo, cops suck

I've been to all SEC stadiums except Arky, LSU, and SoCar (not including Mizzou and A&M) and my nonbiased list is:
1) Ole Miss (grove is hard to beat)
2) Alabama (The Quad compares to grove, everyone close to stadium, almost anyone will welcome you to their tailgate with a drink)
3) Miss St (they may not be a powerhouse but they drink like sailors before and after the game, had tons of fun there)
(Too much walking): Tennessee
(Too spread out): Auburn
(Where am I? I want a beer): Kentucky
(Nice People, but Culture Shock): Florida
(Let's yell at every away fan): Georgia
(It is gameday, right?): Vanderbuilt
Those are just my experiences I'm sure several others had different visits.

If you haven't been to Baton Rouge then I don't think you're qualified to make an accurate list.

I'll be there for the first time Nov 3 with high expectations.. I just hope your fans are better there than they were in New Orleans before the game. They were horrible.
