There is NOTHING southern about St Louis.
Start moving south from the metro and it starts mixing a little the further south you get.

Do you also drink Lone Star beer?
I used to drink a little Lone Star....back when you could buy a case of it and a bag of ice for less than $10. It was made in Longview back then, before Miller took it over, and it tasted ok (as far as cheap american beer goes).

The Civil War was 150 years ago, let it go.
I lived in Richmond, VA for 12 years and will always refer to them as yankees, but if want to try and convince me YALL are Southern, go for it. I won't be the one fighting a losing battle. If it makes you feel better, I consider Kentucky the north as well.
In my eyes the South is AR, TN, and NC south, and AR and LA east. TX is the southwest
As Bill Hicks would say... That Jesus guy was a long time ago, so let it go.
I think there is a huge difference between what is geographically the south and what is Confederate country.
I'm not in anyway saying Missouri is in the south. It's not. Its the mid-south or mid-west. Its a lot like Texas bc its very diverse. Northern Missouri it totally different from mid and southern Missouri (Ozarks).
I'm just saying it was a state that fought for the Confederacy (largely) and its dumb for our own fans to use the world Yankee just to upset other fans on here. That was the intention of this post.

Agree with Kilo on this one. St. Louis sticks out like a sore thumb in the midwest. It acts and sounds like a northern city.
The downtown blight along I-70 and on along the river road give the appearance of a poor southern city, but St. Louis couldn't be more different.

You seem rather proud of this.
Its not just moving south, its moving anywhere outside of the metro area. Start moving west and you get it too... St. Charles is very much a souther type of area. If you drive out to Hermann MO (which is west) you will see a giant Confederate flag a long the highway.
The city of St. Louis is a liberal haven with a huge concentration of well fare recipients if ya know what I mean. Of course its not very southern. I wonder in the modern day just how 'southern' a city like Atlanta is... most metro areas wouldn't resemble something 'southern'.

Missouri sent just as many men to fight in the union army as the confederate army.
Also, upsetting other fans is the name of the game around here. You will learn soon enough.

I'm glad you have such a fine understanding of something you're apparently so proud of.
I'll never get over this paradox.

geographically
Considering we are arguing north and south, sounds like this is all that matters.
Having lived in New Orleans, Memphis, and Richmond, it seems the only places that still care what side of the war they were on is the border states. The Civil War is over.

Not really. Just stating a fact.
Missouri is what it is and it doesnt need to be shoe horned into a something in an attempt to "Fit in" in the SEC.

Hey noobles,
Advice...study some of our posting styles within this thread. There is an art to subtly trolling and flaming and you could benefit from that.
At first I thought you were utilizing this technique. You've proven me wrong.

I don't need to learn.. I know how it is. I just don't like the concept of trying to upset people just for the sake of it. That seems pretty immature.
And as much as you want to think it, it was not 50-50. Missouri was much more into the Confederate side of things. A lot of the men that fought for the Confederate cause weren't officially logged like the Union soldiers. They were guerillas and militia. So that statistic is irrelevant.

No. You need to learn. The first wave of Missouri posters at the Rant covered this ground a plenty. We came in trying to be cordial and non abrasive but we soon learned the ways of the Rant.
